Description: Origen is a first step towards the construction of a genetic characterization program aimed at the entire population. This chapter is aimed at the Caldas department, with the interest of laying the foundations for the implementation of precision medicine in Colombia and serving as a reference for all actors in the areas of genetics and public health in the country and the region. This will demonstrate the potential benefits of genomic sequencing approaches at different stages of life using exome sequencing of two groups of people at different stages of life and with cardiovascular risk comorbidity in their health status (Elderly adults with and without comorbidity). The information generated and the experience gained during the execution of this first phase will be used to guide the theoretical, methodological and logistical components of the long-term flagship project. (BPIN Code 2021000100368)

Benefits: Design of a methodology for collecting and analyzing (clinical) data to identify variants associated with cardiovascular risk and aging factors through the use of omics in a population in the department of Caldas and an evidence-based model for data governance aimed at the implementation of precision medicine in Caldas.
