Description: The project proposes to advance towards the search for metabolic pathways and associated genes in plant growth-promoting bacteria, which may have the potential to improve the nutrition and protection of cocoa crops in the presence of the pathogen M. roreri. This knowledge will be the starting point for designing and establishing programs adapted to control the pathogen in different cocoa-growing regions of the country.

Benefits: Addressing this problem will generate an important opportunity at the departmental level, through the use of organisms for nutritional and production improvement, biofertilizers, biopesticides, functional molecules and genetic resources.
